If you hold the scheme's mobile phone ensure that it's switched on and to hand throughout your shift. At the start of your shift phone ambulance control to let them know that you and your partner are on cover until whatever time you'll finish. There is no need to sign off. If you don't hold the scheme's mobile phone your partner will inform you of a call-out by phoning you on your personal mobile phone or your land line. Please ensure that your mobile phone is switched on and to hand throughout your shift - just in case your land line is engaged!

If for any reason you know you won't be able to respond during any part of your shift, e.g. you are called away from home for a while, please contact your partner so the he/she is aware of the situation.
